UPF Startup Technical Writer

Oak Ridge, TN

1 Year Contract

Summary:

The UPF Startup Technical Writer supports the Startup team by developing and managing test documentation. Responsibilities include technical editing, graphics, document control, and ensuring the clarity and accuracy of test objectives. The writer works closely with Testing Engineers to maintain the integrity of testing procedures and reports to the Lead Technical Writer to avoid testing delays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow direction from the Lead Technical Writer.
• Understand technical testing processes and objectives.
• Ensure the quality and clarity of test instructions.
• Coordinate with Test Engineers to preserve the intent of procedures.
• Maintain documentation per project controls.
• Support other project-related tasks as assigned.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of related experience without a degree ( in nuclear startup or DOE construction projects ).
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Must pass a drug screen, background check, and employment/education verification.
• Must obtain site security clearance, DOE.
• Strong understanding of startup testing and commissioning.
• Familiarity with engineering, construction, and regulatory standards.
• Excellent writing, communication, and computer skills.
