We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated Surveyor-in-Training with a strong background in the oil and gas industry, or the ability to become certified within one year. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, field crew and project management, and a deep understanding of surveying practices as they relate to oil and gas infrastructure.

Qualified candidates should have experience in pipeline routing, facility layout, and well pad design. The role includes project research, field crew oversight, drafting plats and alignment sheets, mentoring junior staff, and performing quality control reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist RPLS in all phases of oil and gas survey work, including boundary, route, and as-built surveys
• Conduct deed and title research for ROW and easement acquisition
• Verify crew layouts and perform field QA/QC
• Draft plats, alignment sheets, and survey deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Support and manage field crews and provide technical guidance as needed
• Lead office and field tasks, including field work when required
• Participate in project coordination and reporting
• Train less experienced staff and review survey data for accuracy

Requirements:

• Valid drivers license
• Surveyor-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 1 year
• Minimum of 5 years experience in land surveying, preferably in the oil and gas sector
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Field experience with GPS and Robotic Total Stations
• Proficient in field procedures, legal description writing, deed research, and CAD
• Experience with pipeline and oilfield boundary surveying in both rural and urban environments
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred
• Experience with MicroStation is a plus
• DOT experience preferred
• Strong math, communication, and technical skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently or on a team
