Position: Mechanical Assembler
Location: Horseheads, NY
Shift: Day Shift
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join a growing manufacturing team. This role is responsible for assembling mechanical and electrical components on large vehicle bodies according to blueprints and schematics. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Assemble vehicle bodies, subassemblies, and components according to blueprints and schematics
• Install mechanical and electrical components, including wiring and electrical assemblies
• Perform proper soldering and routing of electrical wiring
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment to complete assemblies accurately
• Measure, cut, and fit materials using shop math and layout tools
• Test assembled systems and components to ensure proper operation
• Identify assembly issues, make adjustments, and perform minor repairs as needed
• Maintain quality standards while working on multiple projects simultaneously
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required protective equipment

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods and use hands and fingers for assembly work
• Comfortable working with tools, machinery, and mechanical components
• Ability to rig components and work from scaffolding when required

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a related field
• Solid foundation in mechanical and electrical assembly
• Experience assembling components on large vehicles or heavy equipment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at once
