Department: Metro Denver Radiation Safety
FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $29.54 - $44.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Summary: Support the Radiation Safety Program using specialized equipment, software and technical skills.
Responsibilities: - Prepares patient rooms for radiopharmaceutical therapy to prevent the spread of radioactive material and maintain exposures to patients and staff as low as reasonably achievable.
- Decontaminates radioactive materials spills and properly disposes of radioactive and non-radioactive waste. Ensures regulatory standards are met prior to release for unrestricted use. Monitors compliance with lead apron inspections; assists and trains clinical personnel as needed.
- Tracks required information. Obtains data and coordinates compliance with regulations and policies. Assists radiation and radioactive materials users with processes to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assists with audits related to the use of radiation and radioactive materials. Supports the laser safety program by performing audits and providing training.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements: - Associates Degree in Physics, Radiology, or related field. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in related field. Must pass background check as outlined in CDPHE regulations 6 CCR 1007-1 Part 22.
