R&D Engineering Assistant - Medical Device Assembly

Micro-Leads is a fast-paced early-stage company developing an injectable medical device to treat people with chronic pain with greater efficacy. Our company has extensive expertise in precision, closed-loop, and high-resolution neuromodulation /bioelectronic medicine devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembly and testing of miniature electrical and plastic/polymer medical devices
  • Build miniature components to support the research and development team
  • Build, setup, and qualify new and existing assembly fixtures and test systems
  • Perform assembly, laser cutting, and molding procedures
  • Assist with CAD drawings for mechanical designs
  • Execute

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Outstanding ability to work with your hands and fingers (excellent manual dexterity, particularly with very small things)
  • Experience assembling small devices using adhesives
  • Experience mixing adhesives or silicone
  • Experience working with small hand tools, microscopes, tweezers, and wrenches
  • High attention to detail
  • A positive attitude, the willingness to learn, and an excellent work ethic
  • A high school diploma or associates degree

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Rework of PCBs using rework station and fine wire
  • Experience soldering SMT components with a microscope
  • Experience with making small items (ex. laser cutting, molding, CNC machining)
  • Practical experience reading electrical diagrams or mechanical drawings
  • Computer skills to run equipment (ex. Autocad Lite)
  • Ability to understand or modify documents, drawings, specifications, and quality plans
