As an intern, you will build knowledge and experience in our core business groups and their vision, business objectives, processes, systems, and services. You will have extensive contact with peers and interaction with senior leaders. The Human Resources department is seeking students of junior status or below who are interested in working year round. Work full-time during our summer internship period (mid-May to about the first week in August), then work a part-time schedule while in school. Work schedules and hours will be flexibly designed to accommodate class schedules; however, availability to work 15-25 hours per week in person Monday-Friday during normal business hours at UP Center in Omaha, Nebraska, is required. This internship will work on the Talent Acquistion team to assist with the daily tasks of the candidate hiring process. You will collaborate with recruiters to support candidates throughout their onboarding experience and address inquiries and concerns from potential applicants, current employees, and recruiters. Additionally, you will have the chance to learn about various HR functions with Union Pacific, such as recruitment, training, benefits, performance management, and health and medical services. There are also opportunities to lead projects focused on analyzing data and auditing tasks, which can result in process enhancements for Talent Acquisition and other teams. The estimated wage for this position is between $21.00 -$24.00 per hour. Final rate of pay will be based on several factors including year of study, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
