Location: On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia Your Day to Day as a Welding Engineer: Provides Welding Engineering support to shop floor fabrication operations. This includes preparations for upcoming operations, resolution of daily fabrication issues, and generation of process improvement ideas, and development/implementation of process monitoring. Selects welding methods, developsparameters, demonstratesmockups, and completes qualifications. ProgramsCNC welding machines. Prepareswelding procedures, drawings, and electronic shop floor routing documents. Preparescustomer submittals to transmit information and plans, gains approvals, and authorizes repairs to deviated components. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or Materials Joining from an ABET-accredited university is required. Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required. Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities is required. Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance. Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
