The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and qualification of welding machines, procedures, and schedules from concept to commercialization through experimentation and process verification to ensure production manufacturing can be performed repeatability. [/headings][spacing desktop_height="15" mobile_height="15" smobile_height="15"][headings alignment="" tag="h5" heading_bottom_margin="10px" heading="Duties and Responsibilities:"] Ownership of welding processes: Identification of future development needs, qualification of new schedules/specifications and work instructions, and design of welding fixtures. Assist with development of Nadcap and ASME welding programs and certifications. Collaborate closely with engineers and designers to build prototypes of new products, using a variety of tools and techniques. Conduct rigorous testing and validation procedures to ensure the performance, reliability, and safety of prototype and first article units. Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, test results, dimensional inspection, and design iterations. Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate technical issues during the development process, proposing and implementing effective solutions. Participate in design reviews and reporting feedback for continuous improvement of products and processes. Proficient technical writing skills pertaining to creating code-specific documentation. Well versed in ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, AWS D17.1, and AWS D17.2 welding codes. Practical knowledge of carbon steels, nickel-based alloys, and titanium. Meticulous critical thinker capable of thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Possess an understanding of mechanical drawings, materials packaging, bellows, and sheet metal forming processes. Must have strength to lift 50lbs from floor to waist. Ability to read/write/speak English. Legal authorization to work in the US.
