We receive inquiries every day from wonderful community members requesting guidance about volunteering with the American Red Cross. To better serve these individuals, we are currently in need of a volunteer receptionist with professional phone etiquette who will speak with individuals seeking Red Cross volunteer information. Responsibilities:
Complete phone calls and send emails or text messages to provide information and guidance to individuals seeking direction about Red Cross volunteering
Receive training and then provide a high-level explanation of all Red Cross volunteer opportunities
Conduct an interview (script provided) to learn about the individual you are speaking with, then recommend volunteer positions that could be a good fit for the individual
Speak comfortably with people from various backgrounds and cultures, living in areas throughout Northern California
You will NOT be asked to make cold calls
Resources Provided:
You will be provided an online team Google phone line or office phone for making calls
You will be asked to keep notes and track your work in an online Red Cross database
You will be provided training and reference documents for learning how to represent the Red Cross
Time Commitment:
Please commit to this role for a minimum of 6 months
Complete training, then support tasks for a minimum average of 1 hour per week
Work Hours:
Flexible! You may choose your preferred work hours any day between 11:00am -5:30pm
Work Location:
Work remotely in a quiet location with a reliable internet connection and a computer for access to phone calls and our online team database.

Work from a local Red Cross office if preferred.
