  1. Description of the Position

Ensures smooth execution of all logistics related processes during an aircraft overhaul event and generates a continuous optimization of the supply chain. Develops solutions, take decisions within the material supply process, especially for problematic material requests or critical urgent deliveries. Coordinates all materials and information flows between customer’s logistics department and central and local LHT logistics units. Provides the material coordinators with information (incl. reports) and supports him/her with all issues handled by the central material management unit (as a direct link from local to central).

  1. Essential Responsibilities

  • Works together with the material coordinators and central material management functions to achieve an on-time redelivery of the aircraft at minimum logistic costs.
  • Systematically questions / challenges the supply rules and the material planning decisions and jointly develops process or setup improvements.
  • Stays in close contact with the material coordinators and central material management functions, receiving their requests for support on problematic material requests (e.g., time-critical requests, material shortage at supplier, etc.)
  • Coordinates all materials and information flows between customer’s logistics department and central and local LHT logistics units.
  • Places and tracks material requests for customer supplied materials.
  • Develops solutions together with local material coordinators, central material management functions and logistic service providers on problematic material requests (exception handling)
  • Responsible to clarify or escalate transport related issues on the interface between material coordinator and logistics service provider’s material flow management.
  • Ensures requested information from production and from customers is compiled and provided to material coordinator on time (reports)
  • Monitor and report total material consumption per aircraft maintenance event.
  • Contributes to discussions on process improvement opportunities with his field of action.
  • Feedbacks any material improvement opportunities from material coordinator to central material management functions.
  • Performing any technical task that he/she is appointed by his / her superior.
  • Measured on total material management costs per layover, fulfilment of material requests on time (number of material requests fulfilled on advised delivery date vs number of total material requests), quality and on-time generation of the main required reports (number of agreed reports ready and provided on agreed date vs. number of all agreed reports)
  • Flexibility according to workload during the project phases

  1. Education, Skills and Competencies

  • Associate degree in Industrial Management or Materials or equivalent experience in logistics
  • Professional experience in logistic of minimum 3 years
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to think out of the box.
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership characteristics
  • Team spirit, sense of responsibility and very good interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate, preferably SAP knowledge
  • Ability to generate new ideas and identify potential for improvement within his working area.
  • High degree of ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience in process design
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
  • Valid driver’s license
