In this role, you will be a member of the Future Programs team, giving you the unique opportunity for early stage, green field development building select next generation products. You will work in a fast paced, dynamic environment on every stage of program development from concept to launch and be heavily influential in developing the practices, culture, and engineering principals of our growing team. In this highly cross functional role, you will work with multiple software teams, as well as controls and systems engineers to bring up and maintain critical systems and release processes, developer tools, and workflow automations for our new team. Ideal candidates will not only have experience improving existing systems and tooling, but selecting technologies, building out process pipelines, and standing up new systems.

• Build and maintain systems by configuring third party tools or writing custom scripts to automate the software development, release, and validation process for the Future Programs firmware team.
• As the first Release Engineer on the team, you will be the single point of contact for system maintenance and will work cross functionally with impacted teams to architect solutions that meet team and project needs.
• Build, scale, automate, and secure our software development system including CI and verification automation infrastructure.
• Proactively devise ways to increase development velocity through automation of common development tasks.
• Design for high reliability, redundancy, fault tolerance, and strong security.
• Provide guidance on designing release and testing processes to fit technical and project requirements and then integrate process changes into team-wide standards and automation.
• Identify useful new technologies that can improve efficiency and reliability and incorporate them into build release workflows, development tools, and processes.

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in release engineering
• 5+ years of experience with programming in Python or similar.
• Experience working with build and release automation, as well as HiL testing infrastructure, on hardware products running C or C++ and lightweight operating systems.
• Expert in maintaining the configuration of industry standard source control and build automation systems such as Gitlab or Github, build servers such as Jenkins, Gitlab Runners, and tracking systems such as Jira.
• Experience with Bazel, Docker, PyTest, OpenHTF a plus.
• Relishes the challenges and architectural opportunities of a start up environment.
• Experience with consumer-facing products, safety critical systems, and resource constrained software a plus.
• Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $186,000.00 - $232,500.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
