Location: Remote (Must reside in Iowa )

Contract Type: Contract with potential for permanent hire

Hours: 40 hours/week | Core hours: 7 AM – 7 PM CST (Flexible start between 6 AM – 8 AM CST)

Systems: EPIC, 3M | Communication via Microsoft Teams

Overview:

We're seeking experienced Rural Health Coders to support a high-volume rural clinic in Iowa. This role is 100% remote but candidates must reside in Iowa. Coders will be responsible for reviewing and coding 100% of provider-reviewed charts—no auditing or education responsibilities involved.

Must-Have Requirements:

• Must Hold AAPC or AHIMA certification
• Must live in Iowa (no exceptions)
• Rural Health Clinic Coding experience (strongly required)
• Deep understanding of the difference between rural health coding and standard outpatient coding
• Experience with E/M, CPT, and Clinical Visit coding across a diverse specialty mix
• Proficient in EPIC and 3M coding software

Workload & Expectations:

• Facility sees 270–300 patients/day across 21 providers
• Each coder is responsible for a full day’s worth
