Robotics Technician | Hudsonville, MI

Salary Range: $53,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and calibrate industrial robotic systems and their peripheral equipment.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on robotic cells to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues in robots and automation equipment.
  • Execute repairs and replace defective components in robotic arms, controllers, and end-effectors.
  • Program and fine-tune robot paths, speeds, and logic for various manufacturing processes and product changes.
  • Conduct safety audits and ensure all robotic operations comply with industry standards and company protocols.
  • Document maintenance activities, repair histories, and system configurations accurately for record-keeping.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in programming, teaching, and troubleshooting industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) logic and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components of automated machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and robot manuals.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens).
  • Familiarity with industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
  • Certifications from major robot manufacturers (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA).
  • Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profinet).
