The San Francisco office of Aon is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analyst or Associate to join our dynamic transactional insurance M&A and Transaction Solutions team. You will work directly with senior members of the Representations & Warranty and Tax teams in the placement and negotiation of sophisticated transactional insurance products on behalf of private equity and corporate clients, gaining hands-on experience, industry-leading training, and mentorship in a fast-paced M&A environment.

This position offers a broad range of responsibilities over corporate transactions at the intersection of mergers & acquisitions, legal risk assessment, and insurance underwriting. Candidates should possess the ability to collaborate with and advise business, financial, and legal professionals throughout the deal cycle.

Candidates must have a strong academic record, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently with clients and colleagues. The ideal candidate is a self-starter willing to take on responsibility, capable of problem-solving, and advising clients involved in complex transactions.

Work style: Hybrid, in-office 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior brokers in structuring and placing R&W and Tax insurance policies for domestic and cross-border M&A deals.
  • Analyze quotes for proposed M&A insurance policies and prepare term comparisons for clients.
  • Coordinate with underwriters and clients/advisors during underwriting, managing deadlines and information flow.
  • Track deal activity, quotes, policy terms, and pipeline status using internal tools.
  • Assist with client invoicing and billing processes.
  • Participate in underwriting calls and deal discussions, contributing to strategy and client engagement.
  • Assist with client pitches, business development, and special projects.
  • Develop relationships with M&A insurance underwriters, lawyers, private equity, and internal colleagues.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
  • Property and Casualty license or ability to obtain within six months.
  • 1-2 years of experience in insurance, financial services, legal sector, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including presentation skills.
  • Proactive team player, resourceful, and self-motivated.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and insurance software tools.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in commercial insurance (underwriting, broking, claims, or support).
  • Familiarity with M&A, private equity, or corporate law concepts.
  • Comfort working with legal documents and insurance contracts.
  • Interest in legal risk, deal mechanics, and insurance structuring.
