Job Summary

As a part time Bookkeeper, you will manage daily cash pouches, prepare deposits and ensure the accuracy of electronic transactions. You’ll maintain financial records and assist with daily reporting. Additionally, you’ll contribute to Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience by greeting customers, offering assistance, and fostering a positive shopping environment. This is a part time, primarily weekend position, with approximately 5-10 hours each week.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Balance: Balance the safe at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Daily Cash Management: Accurately balance cashier pouches and match up misc tenders, donations, and vendor coupons.
• Cash Deposits: Prepare and make daily cash deposits to the bank by 1:30 PM.
• Transaction Verification: Verify daily electronic transactions for accuracy.
• Track Donations & Miscellaneous Tender: Monitor and record donations and miscellaneous tender transactions.
• Tender Over/Short: Record over/shorts on the Discrepancy Report.
• Cash Safe Management: Maintain adequate cash levels in the safe.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive financial data with integrity and confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Part-time position with morning hours.
• Must be able to work Saturdays (can also add Sundays)
• Fast-paced, retail environment.
