Job Description

Position Summary:


We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. This role involves medication management, clinical supervision, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and mental status examinations
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
  • Monitor treatment progress and adjust care plans as needed
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments
  • Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, social workers, and primary care providers
  • Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and medication side effects
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Attend case conferences and contribute to interdisciplinary treatment planning
  • May provide supervision for residents, fellows, or advanced practice providers

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with psychiatry residency training
  • Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active and unrestricted state medical license
  • DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
  • Strong diagnostic and pharmacological knowledge
  • Experience with diverse populations and co-occurring disorders preferred

Work Environment:

  • May work in inpatient units, outpatient clinics, hospitals, private practice, or telepsychiatry
  • Can include high-stress situations involving acutely ill patients
  • Typically involves a combination of patient consultations, administrative duties, and meetings
  • Must maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
