We are working with a large construction company who is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage full-cycle payroll operations for their organization.This role is ideal for a payroll professional with a strong background in construction and union payroll who is highly detail-oriented, knowledgeable in payroll compliance, and comfortable working under pressure. The Payroll Manager will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and union regulations.
Manage and process full-cycle payroll for a unionized workforce, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Administer union payroll requirements, including prevailing wage, certified payroll reporting, and union deductions
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
Maintain and organize payroll records, files, and documentation in accordance with legal requirements
Prepare, generate, and analyze payroll-related reports for internal stakeholders
Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve payroll-related issues in a timely manner
Serve as a point of contact for employee payroll questions, providing clear and professional communication
Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and Operations to support audits, reporting, and process improvements
Continuously evaluate payroll processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracy
High school diploma required
Bachelorâs degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred
Minimum of four (4) years of related payroll experience, with a strong emphasis on union payroll
Prior experience in the construction industry strongly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
Strong math and accounting aptitude
Proven ability to maintain accurate payroll files and create detailed departmental reports
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
Comfortable working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines
