Latitude is seeking an experienced intellectual property attorney to join the legal team of one of its globally recognized retail company clients. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience managing and growing global intellectual property portfolios and advising on brand strategy, including trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and patents. Prior experience working on complex intellectual property matters in the retail and/or consumer products sectors, specifically with regard to consumer packaged goods, is a must. Prior experience working at a sophisticated law firm and/or in-house with a mid- to large-size corporate legal department is also preferred. This position is based in Miami, Florida. Strong relocation candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities of the Intellectual Property Attorney (In-House Counsel): - Manage, grow, and advise on the companys global IP portfolio, including prosecution, enforcement, and monetization
- Lead infringement investigations and brand protection efforts
- Advise on innovation, branding, and product strategy
- Oversee IP disputes, litigation, and related agreements
- Conduct IP due diligence and support commercial contracts
Requirements of the Intellectual Property Attorney (In-House Counsel): - 10-15+ years of intellectual property experience, preferably in the retail and/or consumer goods industry
- Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school
- Outstanding references
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Florida, or eligible for admission as authorized in-house counsel
