Role and Responsibilities: As an HVAC Mechanical Apprentice, you will have the unique opportunity to learn and develop your skills under the guidance of experienced professionals in the mechanical contracting industry. You will play a critical role in assisting with various projects while gaining valuable hands-on experience. Key responsibilities include:

  1. On-the-Job Training: Work alongside skilled technicians and mechanics to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal systems.
  2. Learning from Experts: Observe and learn from experienced professionals, acquiring knowledge in mechanical systems, industry codes, regulations, safety practices, and quality standards.
  3. Material Preparation: Assist in preparing materials, tools, and equipment required for projects, ensuring proper organization and inventory management.
  4. Project Support: Aid in the setup, dismantling, and cleanup of job sites, contributing to the overall efficiency and progress of projects.
  5. Safety Awareness: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety awareness and ensuring a safe work environment.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including progress reports, time sheets, and material usage.
  7. Skill Development: Actively participate in training sessions and workshops, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge in the mechanical contracting field.
  8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues and team members, learning from their expertise and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in the HVAC mechanical contracting industry.
  • Enthusiasm for hands-on learning and a strong desire to acquire practical skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Basic understanding of tools and equipment commonly used in HVAC mechanical work.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and learn from experienced professionals.
  • Ability to pass drug screenings.
  • Ability to pass background checks, obtain security clearances and work on jobsites where minor children are present.
  • Dedication to safety protocols and practices.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks and environments.
  • Flexibility to work in various job environments and adapt to changing project requirements and/or extended work hours (nights/weekends) as necessary.
