At Plain Communities Business Exchange, we produce a monthly, faith-based magazine that serves Amish and Mennonite readers across the U.S. and Canada. Founded in 1993 and managed by the Lapp family, our publication highlights Plain entrepreneurship, trades, and daily life through articles, interviews, and advertisements. As our in-house Graphic Designer, you'll play a vital role in shaping the visual experience of a magazine that's both practical and deeply rooted in community.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Experienced : 1+ years of print and/or digital design experience preferred; an applicable internship will also be considered; a strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and composition.
  • Creative & Collaborative : Brings fresh ideas, works well with others, and contributes to a cohesive visual brand.
  • Responsible & Self-Motivated : Meets deadlines consistently and takes ownership of assigned projects.
  • Adaptable Problem-Solver : Willing to learn, flexible with feedback, and able to troubleshoot design challenges efficiently.
  • Computer Savvy : Comfortable working in Adobe Creative Cloud programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & layout magazine pages, features, and print advertisements.
  • Prepare print-ready files to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with ad sales, project managers, and the production team to meet publication goals.
  • Source or create illustrations and graphics as needed to enhance editorial content.
  • Stay current with trends and best practices in print and editorial design.
  • Work a full-time, in-office role: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM.
