DSP Engineer

We are working with a start-up who are advancing RF solutions for critical space and defense applications with a high-performance, adaptable platform. Their team combines expertise in cloud computing, AI, communications, and embedded systems.

DSP Engineer

As a DSP Engineer, you will design and integrate signal processing algorithms for diverse communication systems. Collaborating with FPGA, software, hardware, and test teams, you will rapidly develop, deploy, and refine waveforms across various channels and environments.s.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy DSP algorithms from analysis to FPGA implementation and field use
• Build floating/fixed-point modeling tools in MATLAB/Python/C++ for efficient algorithm development
• Collaborate with FPGA and software engineers to align models with implementation

Requirements:

• Proficiency in MATLAB/Python and C++ for DSP modeling
• Strong grasp of modem DSP concepts (framing, pulse shaping, tracking loops, AGC)
• Experience with channel coding (Convolutional, Reed-Solomon, LDPC, Turbo codes)
• Understanding of channel impairments and modem characterization (low SNR, Doppler, multipath, jamming)
• Ability to translate algorithms into FPGA gateware

Preferred Skills

• Experience designing waveforms from scratch
• Familiarity with satellite communication standards (CCSDS, DVB-S2X)
• Expertise in adaptive coding and modulation systems
• Background in LPI/LPD waveform development for challenging environments
• Knowledge of SystemVerilog/VHDL and GNU Radio
