Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Culinary Gardener who has experience in gardening and/or landscaping, to help maintain the integrity of our farm to table experience and develop new garden areas.
Job Summary:
As a Culinary Gardener you will be supervised under the Culinary Garden Manager and will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, such as:
Greenhouse production includes but not limited to; watering, sowing, material handling, and record keeping.
Hauling compost from the kitchen to the compost area, handling composted materials.
Harvest and washing of a variety of fruits and vegetable crops located around the property.
Property Maintenance by weeding, tree/shrub removals, maintaining irrigation, brush cutting, weed cutting, digging and other responsibilities as needed.
Planting a variety of vegetables, shrubs, and trees.
Moving materials using a wheelbarrow or golf cart around properties.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
Basic Knowledge of organic garden practices.
Understand the basics of plants and equipment.
Must be able to follow instructions.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Have the capability to operate motorized vehicles and power tools safely.
Comfortable using long handled tools including but not limited to shovels, hoes and rakes.
Physical Requirements:
The ability to work outdoors, year-round, in varied weather conditions.
The ability to complete repetitive garden tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for long periods at a time.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and carry it a minimum of 10 feet.
Must be comfortable working with nature including bugs and animals.
