Job Description

Correctional Officer: MM:92:T3 Florida Department of Corrections Veterans Preference • Multiple positions available: Florida Women’s Reception Center, Marion Correctional Institution, and Lowell Correctional Institution • No prior experience necessary; all training will be provided. Summary Correctional Officers are responsible for the supervision, care, custody, control, and physical restraint, when necessary, of inmates in a correctional institution or facility. Requirements Be at least 18 years of age. Be a United States citizen. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Possess a valid driver’s license for required travel. Undergo drug screening, fingerprinting, and background investigation which includes felony convictions, misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement, or misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence. Employer may have additional requirements. Steps to Become a Correctional Officer Step I: Complete the State of Florida application. Step 2: Submit a supplemental application which authorizes the agency to complete a background check (You will be texted and emailed a link within one business day after completing above steps). Work Schedule & Salary Full time. $22.00 per hour.
