Job Overview
A Barista is responsible for anticipating the needs of coffee guests and providing them with everything they need for a complete experience. They are an ambassador for the hotel and interact with hospitality at all times. While the primary role is to produce beverage orders for guests, the role is also to act as a guide to our guests.

The person having this position must possess good communication skills, have the ability to resolve conflict and have a thorough understanding of LINE policies, procedures and expectations.

Because of the fluctuating demands of the companys operation, it may be necessary that each
employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employee is expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.

Responsibilities
  1. Offer guests an enjoyable experience that conforms to the LINEs standards of excellence, professionalism and friendliness
  2. Demonstrate advanced understanding and knowledge of the sequence of service, following this sequence for every guest.
  3. Possess expert knowledge of the POS system to correctly and strategically communicate guest orders
  4. Demonstrate exert proficiency in barista work and all coffee and tea-related subject matter
  5. Responsible for receiving payment for all items ordered, correct cash handling and gratuity distribution
  6. Take ownership of all service issues brought to your attention by guests
  7. Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the hotel
  8. Participate in scheduled departmental and administrative meetings as requested
  9. Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
  10. Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements
  11. Greet every guest promptly with a smile and maintain eye contact
  12. Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
  13. Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
Core Competencies
  1. High-School diploma or GED preferred.
  2. Bachelors degree, hotel or related experience preferred
  3. Coffee shop background and experience in high volume dining preferred.
  4. Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English Language
  5. Excellent organizational skills
  6. Excellent attention to detail
  7. Ability to multitask
  8. Excellent communication skills
  9. Able to handle a large volume of guest interactions in an efficient and courteous manner;
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet
  11. Work well under pressure, requires being a team player
