We are seeking a CNC Shop Manager to join a new division of our team! You will be hands-on in the leadership of the shop, including design, production planning, and daily operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to build and lead a growing department focused on precision fabrication.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations of a CNC fabrication shop, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met.
- Program, set up, and operate CNC router and CNC waterjet machines to produce custom parts and components.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop tooling and optimize part designs for manufacturability.
- Manage workflow scheduling, prioritize jobs, and coordinate with other departments to meet project deadlines.
- Train and mentor shop staff on CNC programming, setup, and machine operation best practices.
- Maintain machinery, tooling, and materials inventory; ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Review CAD drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan machining strategies and achieve precision results.
- Monitor production metrics and continuously improve processes for speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience, including programming and operating CNC routers and CNC waterjets.
- Proficiency in G-code programming and CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar).
- Strong understanding of materials such as metals, stone, and composites.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and CAD models.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
