Job Title: Butcher (Grade 2)
Reports to: Assistant Plant Manager
Location : 605 Washington Ave, Carlstadt, NJ 07072
Shift Hours: 5AM - 2PM (times may shift per overtime)

Position Summary: 
The Butcher position falls within the Butcher Class level. The employee is responsible for cutting pre-packaged and custom order pieces. This role is to be well versed in different types and cuts of meats. An employee is this position may be tasked with other duties associated within this class and lower

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cutting and preparing pre-packaged meats
• Fulfilling custom orders for specific meat selections
• Weighing and packaging products
• Maintaining a neat and clean workspace
• Conducting quality assurance checks on meats and other products
• Properly caring for all knives, tools, and equipment
• Following all applicable food safety protocols

Skills and Abilities:

• Great communication skills
• Detailed knowledge of meats, including different types, grades, and cuts
• Knowledge of meat preparation techniques
• Ability to use hand tools and stand for extended periods of time
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills, attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on foot for extended periods of time
• Able to work in 40&degree; F refrigerated facility

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
• 1+ years of experience working in a butcher shop or meat department
