Typical Day in the Role
• Purpose of the Team: This is the Business Intelligence Analytics team. Their primary function is to provide business intelligence to target audiences using Power BI as the main communication mechanism.
• Key projects: This role will contribute to gaining access to multiple data sources that are not readily available, performing data validation to ensure accuracy, and transforming validated data into meaningful Power BI dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
• Disqualifiers: NA - however, sponsor does not want any candidates who would have a second job in addition to this one.
• Best vs. Average:
1. Strong experience in Power BI dashboard development and maintenance.
2. Solid understanding of data validation, ETL processes, and multiple data platforms.
3. prefer Hands-on skills with Power Apps and Power Automate for automation.
4. Ability to collaborate across technical teams and adapt to changing systems.
Summary:
The main function of a Data Analyst is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work with senior management, technical and client teams in order to determine data requirements, business data implementation approaches, best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage and analysis strategies
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions
• Design, implement, automate and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes
• Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes
• Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications
Top Skills:
1. Power BI Development – 8+ years (dashboard design, DAX, performance optimization).
2. Data Validation & ETL Processes – 8+ years (multi-platform data integration).
3. Power Apps / Power Automate (preferred) – 5+ years (workflow automation and app building).
Skills:
• Experience with database technologies
• Knowledge of the ETL process
• Knowledge of at least one scripting language
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated history of success
• Desire to be working with data and helping businesses make better data driven decisions
